While blog surfing this morning (which I haven't done in ages) I came across this post and just HAD to share it with those who are left following my blog. Hope it brings a laugh to your day as it did mine! Imagine if all the patterns as Fabricland did this? Brings visions of a Hogwarts type of fabric store to mind....!
Of course if you watch it long enough it starts to drive you crazy! So on to the next blog to see what other random things people are posting!

My next project consists of these fun flowers....we'll have to see how this one goes...but I'm up for the challenge!

Mile-a-minute?
This crochet pattern does not live up to its name.....it takes much longer than a minute to do a mile!!!
Almost done another afghan to send along to 'Word and Deed'. I'm enjoying the relaxation of sitting and crocheting while watching tv or visiting with my Mom and Dad. My Mom sits and crochets as well....now if only we could get my Dad started?!!

Amazing Grace
...my chains are gone, I've been set free,
my God, my Savior has ransomed me
and like a flood His mercy reigns
unending love, amazing grace.
This beautiful banner hangs in our church during this season of Lent. This first time I saw it tears filled my eyes as I whispered the words above. Oh what God has done for us through the precious gift of His only Son Jesus!

Knit, Crochet and stamp!!!
So here is an update on what I have been up to the past few weeks. After mastering how to make checkered slippers it was time to move on to a different project....the slipper bag was overflowing!! I attended our ladies craft group at church one Monday afternoon to get some ideas and some wool in hopes of making something useful for others. Our craft group makes afghans, hats, mitts, etc. to donate to a group who in turn sends them to an orphanage in the Ukraine. Hopefully these bright colours will bring a smile to a child's face as she snuggles under its warmth.
On Saturday evening I attended a Stampin up workshop and make the following cards. Love the this new stamp set with the vintage bike and telephone booth! Because I couldn't decide which to make I made both, using the extra piece of cardstock that was supposed to be for the inside of my card to make another front. Smart thinking, huh!!?!

The butterfly card can't help but put you in the mood for spring, which is just around the corner....or not!
I was so, soooo very excited to make the peacock card, as it just so happens I have the perfect friend to send that to!! It's so much prettier in real life!
We also made a Valentine's Day card, but you'll have to wait until the 14th to see that one.
I'm feeling more motivated to get into my stamps and ink again, but first I really want to finish the afghan.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day!! It is snowing here again...cause we need more! Good day to snuggle up with a good book, or a crochet hook!!

Happy New Year !!
Happy 2013!
Yes, it's really me ! Don't keel over from shock !
While chatting with a friend today and admiring her cards on her blog, I mentioned that I really should post something on my blog. She said she was going to check to see if I did, so....
here goes ...
my last 7 months worth of cardmaking!
A simple Christmas card with our recent family photo.
Somewhere along the way my cardmaking mojo left. And since the reason I started my blog was to post cards, I just stopped posting on my blog too. Sorry.
So, I've decided that my word for 2013 is 'discipline'....
....something I need to work on.
I've also decided that some days I really need a motivational speaker! You know, the kind that says...'hey you, get off Pinterest and start making some of that stuff you've been pinning!'
I have started something new though....knitting....slippers. For years my mom has been keeping us all in knitted slippers and doing a wonderful job at it!! But someday someone will need to carry on that tradition...I appointed myself.

So proud to celebrate the graduation of our oldest daughter Brittany, from Redeemer University! She has gone from this shy little girl off to her first day of Joy School, to a beautiful, confident young lady! Love you so much, Britt!

Carnation Creations
Well the weather has returned to seasonal temperatures, but the sun is nice and warm...maybe you can find a little nook to curl up in with a good book. I am reading 'Catching Fire', the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy. I really want to see what all the hype is about, so I borrowed the books from my niece. Ummm, I don't really have an opinion yet. I do appreciate the fact that there is no swearing in the books.
Now onto my card. This is the first card I have made using spellbinders Carnation creations dies. The leaves are a sizzlit die. I inked the flowers up a bit, but I think they are supposed to have a more crushed look...more folded upwards. But then how will it fit in an envelope? Oh well, not bad for a first try....maybe a bit too much purple though!?
I picked up some fun 'new-to-me' goodies at the SGD garage sale on Saturday, so off to my craft room I go!

Owl be missing you!!
This owl punch is so much fun!
I've been making a box of cards for a friend and included these two owl cards along with some of the cards from my last few posts. I know she loves fun cards so I hope she will like these!
I like the 'tree bark' look this embossing folder adds to this first card. It has lots of possibilites on other nature cards and masculine cards as well. She also loves to tease her friends who are older than her by rubbing it in that she will always be younger...so this card is going to make her laugh for sure!! A circle is punched on the front of the card to reveal the owls hidden inside, as show in the second photo.

Smilin' House Mouse
First another Upsy Daisy card very smiliar to yesterdays, but this one I used an embossed white background. I think I like this one better. Love this cute little house mouse, happily thinking of someone special! Came across this layout in a stampin up catalogue...well it's kinda sorta the same....mine is angled a bit more. A fun card for a fun friend who always makes me smile!

Upsy Daisy spritzed
I have been busily making cards, just never got around to posting any....sorry. This is from the Stampin Up set Upsy Daisy. The flowers are coloured with markers - rose red and old olive, and then spritzed with water before stamping onto white paper. I love the look of the water spritzing technique, just never tried it yet. Add some co-ordinating paper, ribbon and a couple of gems and the card is complete.
Looks like it's going to be a beautiful spring, almost summer like, day! Enjoy!

Celebrating 50!
No card making this week, but I did make this cute little picture book for my cousin's 50th birthday! Since I have known her my whole life there was no lack of pictures as I went through all my photo albums....it was great fun! This is the cover. I'm pleased to say she thrilled with it! I can think of no better way to celebrate someone so special who as been such a blessing in my life!..Lots of cherished memories! Love you always, Gracie!

The things we buy..!
A while ago I bought one of these great Dollar store finds that we all come across thinking this would be great for cardmaking....it's colourful and already completely die cut...what could be easier. And then I get it home and think..now what? Well, I found this in my stash the other day and decided to just start cutting it apart. I had a basic idea in mind and this turned out pretty much the way I had hoped. I sort of just kept adding things to keep the colour flow and balance. Now what to do with the rest of the sheet?!
Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog. I see we have a fresh layer of snow again this morning...it must be the weekend. Lately it seems to only snow on the weekend.
Well I'm off to work....enjoy your day!

Birdcage Birthday
Yet again another card from the Nature Walk stamp set. I take no credit for this card as it was totally cased from the SU Idea book and Catalogue pg. 168! That's what it's for right?....there are so many cards in this catalogue that caught my eye, either because of the colours, stampset used or layout. Lots of ideas bouncing around in my head! But first I need to work on a special card for my cousin who is celebrating her 50th birthday this week!
Make it a great day!

Sunshine Girl!
On this cold, blustery, wintery morning, I thought we could all use some warming up with this card! Oh to be somewhere warm, sitting on the beach, soaking up the sun!
This beach babe is a stamp from Kraftin Kimmie, coloured with tombow markers; paper, ribbon, and flowers from my stash. It is already in the mail to my daughter, who is off to Florida for her upcoming reading break, with wishes for a wonderfully, relaxing time with her friends! Am I jealous...well, just a little!
Thanks for stopping by. Stay warm!

Another Walk with Nature
Good morning...looks like another beautiful day! They are predicting snow for tomorrow, but only a couple of cm. Winter....you are such a tease this year!
Another card from the Nature Walk set. I stamped the images on a separate piece of white cardstock, then edged around it with a marker and layered on my white card. The flowers were coloured with tombow markers, I added an extra one popped up on top. My butterfly was coloured with watercolour pencil crayons. Did the same card again with monarch butterfly colours and added some stickles to it....hard to see in the picture. I think this one is my favorite! I will add a sentiment later as needed.
Have I said how much I love this stamp set!! And so far I've only used three of the seven stamps. The possibilities are endless!
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy this beautiful day!

Nature Walk
Finally got around to inking up my Nature Walk stamp set from SU. Now that I have played with all the different stamps in this set over the last couple of days I have to say.....I LOVE THIS SET!! For this card I stamped the flower image in the backgound, then cutout and raised the bird for some dimension. The whole thing is layered on more mustard cardstock, then on bravo burgunday which I embossed with the framed tulip folder from SU.
That is just the beginning of the endless fun I had creating cards with this set. See you tomorrow for another 'walk with nature'.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day.
