Messy Creativity

Yesterday morning it was very rainy and dreary so Brittany and i made some cards. As you can see it is an absolute must to make a big mess while creating. Not only was the table covered, but the chairs, the piano bench, and most of the floor! Yes, we have too much stuff....so...we had lots of fun!
I made a couple of these cards to send to two women who have had surgery recently. It reminds me to be so thankful that my family and myself are all healthy. This card was made with SU Thoughts & Prayers stamp set, rose red, certainly celery, and a drop of stickles in the middle of each flower. Oh...and some ribbon too.
This is the inside of the card. I was quite happy with the finished product.
Thanks for looking.................................
Now go make your own creative mess!!

Now for something completely different...!

After supper last night the girls both decided they wanted a banana with peanut butter for dessert. I was in the kitchen loading the dishwasher and wondered what all the laughing was about in the other room...i mean really, what could be so funny about eating a banana with peanut butter. Ah, but then you don't know Kristen! She was very intently 'playing' in the jar with her knife. Looking up briefly she stated " i'm making a town..see these are the roads ". Yup, that's my crazy daughter, who never ceases to make us laugh! Did i ever tell you about the time we played Bingo and used miniature marshmellows as markers on our cards....

A new challenge

This card is for a special friend on her birthday. I think it is safe to post, she should have received it by now. This was kind of a fun challenge. I had this paper in my pile of favorites for a while, and then came across this idea on how to use it. Out of the one sheet i was able to make 4 cards, as long as i planned ahead and cut carefully. The stamp is Penny Black. The raised sentiment on this one says 'incredible wonderful you' ! ..which is what my friend is...incredible and wonderful!

'Wonder"

A couple in our church just had their first child, a son. Now a whole new chapter in their lives will begin. Personally, i think it's the best one...children bring so much joy to our lives... (among other things!) ....but mostly joy! This card was made with SU Summer by the Sea set, stamped in close to cocoa, coloured with watercolor pencil crayons and lightly blended with water. Sponged the background with blue ink. The metal sentiment says 'wonder'. Thanks for looking...have a great day!! You know...here it is pouring rain right now, which means i may have to spend the morning making more cards...how awful!

Beetle Book

While shopping at Michael's the other day, i found this really great chipboard book in the shape of ... a 'Beetle'!!! I was so excited!!! What a perfect little album for the pictures of Kristen's car. I covered each page with white cardstock and added the pictures and some embellishments. Still have some journalling to do, but i think this is just the cutest little thing ever!!

You've got mail

Just another fun Penny Black sticker. I love these cute little hedgehogs! A random card to add to my stash, just incase i need a 'no reason' kind of card.

On my mind

I thought this turned out nice.
Background done with brayer and kalidescope ink on glossy SU paper. Stamp set Upsy Daisy from SU, heat embossed with black embossing powder. Simple, but pretty. I like this saying, nice change from 'thinking of you'.
Thanks for looking...enjoy your day.

Beetlemania!

Our new family addition!!
No, not Kristen....we've had her for 16yrs! And this is her first car...what could be more fun than a Bug!! The best part was telling her on April 1st that her dad had picked up a car for her at work because of course we knew she wouldn't believe us...c'mon - it's April Fool's day! He then handed her a key, at which she stared at in total disbelief, and laughed nervously and excitedly for about 2 days until he actually brought the car home.
I have to admit, i love driving it too...it's so fun to toot around town in!

PB sticker cards

These are my first cheater cards made from Penny Black stickers and stampin up cardstock...mostly. The yellow is actually embossed, but that is hard to see on this photo. I just love those Penny Black sticker sheets, i picked up 3 more with frogs, hedgehogs and cats/mice. This set was for a friend of mine for her birthday...she loved them! And i love them because they are fun and easy!

First-time post-er

So here i am, first day with my new blog. Actually, my daughter helped my set up a blog on the weekend, but i decided today i didn't care much for the name of it, so i deleted it and started again. I hope she is not too frustrated with me, she should know by now how indecisive i can be. I have for a long time enjoyed checking out other peoples blogs, mostly the creative card making ones, and decided it would be fun to have one of my own. So here goes....
